Zhangye launches TCM fair to boost public health awareness

A five-day traditional Chinese medicine cultural event started at the Central Square of Ganzhou district in Zhangye, Gansu province, on July 21, aiming to share traditional medicine resources with local communities.

The event features eight thematic sections offering hands-on experience for residents of Zhangye city.

In the fitness zone, 150 medical professionals performed group baduanjin — a traditional Chinese form of aerobics — routines while instructing participants. Nearby, the science popularization zone presented original medical plays translating complex theories into everyday scenarios.

Traditional wellness demonstrations highlighted movement therapy principles through guided exercises. At 20 consultation stations in the expert zone, provincial specialists provided personalized diagnoses.

The knowledge exhibition zone systematically displayed Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophies through documentaries and infographics. Residents experienced over 10 external therapies at the medical technology zone, where clinicians demonstrated classic instruments.

Herbal product displays featured medicinal sachets and footbath kits with how-to guides. The tea experience zone offered specially blended herbal teas prepared by on-site experts according to traditional body type theories.

Zhangye Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine has mobilized key medical personnel to provide "zero-distance" services, offering personalized health solutions. The TCM cultural fair opens daily from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm until July 25.

The hospital also conducts "meet the experts" consultations and therapy trials at the square, its main campus, and the preventive treatment center. An online TCM health knowledge quiz on the hospital's official WeChat account offers participants a chance to win health gift packs.
