Economy

In 2024, Zhangye achieved regional GDP of 68.088 billion yuan ($9.48 billion), an increase of 5.3 percent over the previous year, among which the added value of the primary industry reached 17.447 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1 percent; the added value of the secondary industry reached 14.016 billion yuan, an increase of 6.3 percent; the added value of the tertiary industry was 36.625 billion yuan, an increase of 4 percent. The ratio of the three industrial structure was 25.6:20.6:53.8. The added value of top 10 ecological industries was 29.278 billion yuan, accounting for 43 percent of the city's regional GDP, the proportion increased by 16.5 percentage points than in 2019. Added value of industries above designated size increased by 6 percent. The added value of the service industry throughout the year increased by 4 percent compared to the previous year. Revenue in the general public budget achieved 3.629 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5 percent compared with last year; expenditure in general public budgets was 20.607 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7 percent from last year.
