The "Meet Hexi Corridor" promotion event was held in Shanghai on Sept 5. During the event, Zhangye presented its profound historical culture, abundant natural resources, and local agricultural products through a comprehensive series of promotional activities.
As one of the four renowned prefectures along the Hexi Corridor during the Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 220), Zhangye demonstrated its enduring historical significance and current status as a national historical and cultural city.
The city also presented the vibrant image of "Silk Road Gem: Colorful Zhangye", extending a warm invitation for guests to experience the Hexi Corridor and explore Zhangye in depth.
The song and dance troupe of Sunan Yugur autonomous county captivated the audience with traditional Yugur performances, characterized by rich ethnic style, lively rhythms, splendid costumes, and graceful movements.
Zhangye's exhibition area featured an array of specialty products like yak jerky, premium wines, organic dried jujubes, specialty chili products, and cultural creative items inspired by local landmarks. These displays demonstrated the successful integration of cultural preservation and tourism development.
The food tasting session provided guests with direct and in-depth opportunities to experience the charm of Zhangye cuisine, with the local malatang — a spicy hotpot — allowing attendees to taste the authentic flavors of Northwest China.
