Over 20 photographers from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area visited Zhangye to capture its unique landscapes from Sept 8 to 13.

The photography tour, themed "Silk Road Gem: Colorful Zhangye", highlighted the natural and cultural richness of this key city along the Silk Road.

Zhangye is renowned for its diverse geological features, and boasts 22 national 4A tourist attractions, the most in Gansu province.

Key sites include Zhangye Colorful Danxia Scenic Spot — UNESCO Global Geopark and a 5A Scenic Area, Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon — often compared to the Grand Canyon in the United States — and the Qilian Grassland, known as one of China's six most beautiful grasslands.

With their professional-grade cameras and drones, the photographers captured Zhangye’s vibrant scenery and cultural atmosphere. They praised Zhangye as a year-round photography paradise, noting that its ecological conservation and Danxia landform reflect the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".

A seminar on visual storytelling was also held to promote the integration of photography and regional culture. The photographers said they will promote Zhangye through major media and photography platforms in the Greater Bay Area to enhance the city's domestic and international influence and foster cultural and tourism exchanges.
