Zhangye Colorful Danxia welcomes over 3 million visits in 2025

The Colorful Danxia Scenic Spot in Zhangye, Gansu province, announced that its annual visits surpassed 3 million on the morning of Sept 26, 2025. This milestone follows a record single-day high of over 52,000 visits during the summer peak, underscoring the site's growing popularity.

The scenic spot, renowned as the "Chinese Rainbow Mountains", has become a major driver for local cultural tourism. Recognized as a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a global geopark, its brand influence continues to grow.

This year, the management has focused on enhancing the tourist experience. It launched themed high-speed trains and held promotional events in key cities. The scenic spot also introduced tailored tour products and upgraded experiences like helicopter tours.

Annual events, including the Hot Air Balloon Carnival of Zhangye Colorful Danxia, have successfully boosted the site's popularity.

To manage the visitor flow, the scenic area utilizes a big data platform for scientific planning. For the upcoming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, comprehensive preparations are in place. Over 1,000 staff members will be on duty, joined by more than 100 officials from various departments stationed on-site to ensure operations run smoothly.
