2025 Gansu Study Travel Conference opens in Zhangye

The 2025 Gansu Study Travel Conference opened in Zhangye, Gansu province, on Oct 26, gathering nearly 300 representatives from study travel institutions across China to explore innovative educational approaches and chart new plans for Silk Road study travel.

Gansu's rich cultural resources provide unique advantages for study travel. The province features seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Mogao Caves and Jiayuguan Pass, along with extensive Great Wall relics and historical artifacts.

These resources create an immersive historical learning environment. With multiple national study practice camps and education bases, Gansu has established a solid foundation for educational tourism. The province expects to host 28,000 study groups serving 3.5 million participants in 2025.

As a key city in the Belt and Road Initiative, Zhangye has developed a comprehensive study travel model combining nature exploration, cultural heritage, and patriotic education.

The city offers 30 specialized study routes, 53 standardized bases, and 46 tailored courses for different educational levels. Over 200 certified instructors ensure a quality learning experience.

The conference highlighted Gansu's study travel achievements and featured partnership signings. A special drama performance blended Dunhuang art with Yugur folk traditions, demonstrating innovative integration of performance and education.

Participants later visited key study sites including Zhangye Colorful Danxia and Mati Temple Grottoes for field inspections.
