Zhangye improves grassroots healthcare services

Zhangye is enhancing its primary healthcare network, ensuring residents have access to quality medical services closer to home. Substantial investments have led to upgraded facilities across towns and villages, while streamlined systems improve efficiency.

The city has allocated 145 million yuan ($20.84 million) to renovate seven township health centers and build or upgrade 14 community health stations and 26 village clinics.

Advanced equipment, including 164 essential devices like DR and ultrasound machines, has been deployed at grassroots institutions, strengthening local diagnostic capabilities.

To build a skilled workforce, Zhangye has recruited and trained medical personnel for rural posts. Initiatives include assigning 287 medical graduates to villages, providing training for over 2,800 individuals, and sending 564 experienced professionals to support township and village clinics. Enhanced benefits and pensions are being offered to retain local healthcare workers.

Integrated county medical alliances are helping to improve coordination. Linze county uses an innovative shared information platform, central pharmacy, and an AI-assisted prescription system that has been recognized nationally.

Convenience measures, such as extended hours and home-visit teams, have also been implemented. At the same time, over 1.06 million digital health records are currently maintained, and family doctor teams provide tailored services, achieving 100 percent follow-up for key chronic disease patients.

These efforts are making quality healthcare more accessible and trustworthy for Zhangye's residents.
