Zhangye's Spring Festival market witnessed a vibrant consumption boom, blending traditional customs with modern economic vitality.
Temple fairs in the city bustled with shoppers buying festive goods, while online live-streaming expanded sales channels for local specialties.
Commercial districts thrived as shopping centers became popular destinations for dining, entertainment, and retail. Foot traffic increased significantly, with restaurants reporting higher turnover. Supermarkets ensured an ample supply of daily necessities at stable prices, meeting residents' holiday needs.
Cultural tourism emerged as a major driver of growth, with attractions such as the Ganzhou Lantern Festival drawing large crowds. The Shenshawo Sun Island offered an innovative combination of desert adventures and winter sports, creating a unique holiday experience.
Scenic spots like the Colorful Danxia and Matisi Grottoes offered free admission, boosting visitor numbers. The Matisi Grottoes recorded 4,531 visitors on the third day of Chinese New Year, a 216 percent increase year-on-year.
Government measures further stimulated consumption, including free entry to major attractions for residents, complimentary public parking, and electronic vouchers for tourism and dining.
These initiatives, combined with extended business hours and stable supply chains, created a favorable environment for spending.
Through integrated cultural tourism and innovative consumption models, Zhangye transformed its Spring Festival celebrations into a driver of economic growth, showcasing the enduring vitality of this ancient Silk Road city.
