To celebrate the Year of the Horse, Zhangye recently hosted a series of cultural events, offering residents a festive season rich in tradition. The city's museums and libraries became popular destinations, bringing cultural heritage closer to the public.
At Zhangye Museum, a special exhibition featured over 200 pieces, including Hebei Wuqiang New Year paintings and local folk relics, creating a dialogue between different regional cultures.
An interactive area allowed visitors, especially children, to experience movable-type printing. Popular cultural and creative products, such as sachets with local elements, were also available, while a global zodiac culture exhibition was on display.
Meanwhile, Zhangye Library offered a quiet space for a cultural retreat. Open throughout the holiday, it hosted both online and on-site activities, attracting readers of all ages eager to spend their holiday immersed in books.
These initiatives, ranging from exhibitions and educational activities to lantern riddles, were designed to make history more accessible to average people. They reflected a growing trend of celebrating Spring Festival with cultural experiences, allowing the public to connect with their heritage in meaningful ways.
