Zhangye glass products see strong demand in Europe

Ganzhou Fudi Jinhong Glass Products, a company in Zhangye's Ganzhou district, has been running three automated production lines at full capacity to fulfill export orders bound for the European market.

The company's household glass production workshop is bustling, with dozens of inspectors busy checking and packaging products for shipment. Workers are operating with high morale as the company ramps up production, expands its market reach, and strives to meet delivery deadlines.

Located in the Zhangye Low-Carbon Household Glass Industrial Park, the company produces about 200,000 cosmetic bottles per day, mainly for the European market. This fills a gap in glass manufacturing in Gansu province.

The Zhangye Low-Carbon Household Glass Industrial Park covers a planned area of 1,500 mu (100 hectares) with a total investment of 1 billion yuan ($146.67 million), to be built in three phases.

The park leverages Zhangye's abundant quartz sand resources and ample new-energy electricity from the local circular economy demonstration park to create a full industrial chain integrating production, sales, warehousing, logistics, express delivery, and supporting product processing.

According to Liu Quande, chairman of Fudi Jinhong, nearly all of the glass bottles produced are exported, with clients including well-known cosmetics brands such as Chanel and Lancome.

The company uses green electricity which reduces electricity costs by 40 percent compared to its Jiangsu headquarters and results in zero carbon emissions to produce its glass products.

Thanks to this "green identity card", the bottles can enjoy tax rebates upon entering the European market. A second-phase project with an investment of 260 million yuan is under accelerated construction, with the ultimate goal of turning the site into a national hub for the household glass industry.
