Zhangye's foreign trade sees strong growth

Zhangye's foreign trade saw strong growth in the first quarter. The city recorded 170 million yuan ($25.04 million) in total imports and exports, a 1.3-fold increase from the corresponding period in 2025. The growth rate ranked second overall in Gansu province. Exports reached 160 million yuan, up 1.2 times, while imports stood at 13.3 million yuan, a 7.7-fold jump.

Trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP members also grew steadily.

Hongfeng Vegetable Processing was a key contributor. Its dehydrated products, including green beans, tomato granules, and green pepper granules, have been exported to the United States, Germany, and Switzerland.

Zheng Aiguo, vice manager of the company, said it sold over 100 metric tons of dehydrated vegetables in the first three months of this year, generating 4.14 million yuan in export revenue. The company has been refining production lines and strengthening quality control.

Zhangye organized a training session to make cross-border trade more convenient. Company representatives also visited key exporters of vegetable seeds, dehydrated vegetables, and fresh vegetables, supporting fresh vegetable exporters to expand their production bases.

From January to April, seven international freight trains were dispatched with a total value of 30.33 million yuan, a fivefold increase from one year earlier.

The city also organized foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce companies to attend major exhibitions such as the China International Consumer Products Expo and the Canton Fair, helping them expand their overseas markets.
