Zhangye National Corn Seed Industrial Park

The Zhangye National Corn Seed Industrial Park covers 4,656 mu (310.4 hectares) and has a total investment of nearly 5.2 billion yuan ($77.38 million). The park integrates breeding, production, promotion, processing and sales.

It features nine zones for processing, research, national reserve storage, climate laboratories, recycling, agricultural machinery services, logistics, utilities, and an area reserved for future use.

The park aims to position Zhangye as a new hub for modern seed industry development, facilitating seed distribution nationwide. It will accelerate construction of strategic reserve depots, innovation hubs and trading service centers, while attracting leading enterprises and fostering seed exporters.

According to Yan Bing, deputy general manager of Zhangye Modern Seed Industry Group, the park concentrates on production, trading, R&D, demonstration and smart storage to create a national hub for corn seed production, processing, distribution and pricing.

Eight standardized processing lines are already operational, with an annual capacity of 161 million kilograms of corn seeds, sufficient to support processing needs for 300,000 mu of seed production fields.

The Golden Zhangye Seed Trading Service Center, now in use, offers integrated services for trading, exhibitions, business negotiations and quality testing. Nine leading seed companies have moved in, and industrial clustering is becoming evident.
