Zhangye in Gansu province has accelerated its industrial development in the first half of the year, with industrial value-added rising 15 percent and that of industrial enterprises above designated size enterprises up 17.8 percent year-on-year.
The city focuses on project construction, new energy integration, and service optimization to build a modern industrial system with local characteristics.
Key projects are advancing rapidly. Gansu Fudi Jinhong Glass Products operates fully automated lines, exporting cosmetic glass bottles to over 30 countries. Geruier Biotechnology, with 17 patents, has exceeded 100,000 metric tons of annual bio-feed capacity. The Linze Attapulgite Industrial Park is turning mineral resources into high-value environmental and biomedical materials.
In the new energy sector, Zhangye advances integrated development across power generation, transmission, storage, consumption, and manufacturing.
Linze County EAST Energy Storage Technology's 2GWh sodium-ion battery production line, launched in May, fills a regional gap.
The Pandao Mountain pumped-storage power station, with a total investment of 9.57 billion yuan ($142.36 million) and 1,400MW capacity, is under construction and will generate nearly 1.64 billion kWh of clean energy annually.
Gansu Chuangteng Power Equipment has produced over 130 wind tower units this year, generating more than 50 million yuan in output.
Service support has been strengthened through dedicated liaison systems and regular visits to enterprises. Linze county assigns one specialist per project for full-process assistance. Ganzhou district is closely monitoring key industries, expecting 5.6 billion yuan in industrial output in the first half. Gaotai county has seen a 12.4 percent growth in large-scale industrial value-added.
With solid project pipelines and optimized industrial structure, Zhangye continues to inject lasting momentum into its high-quality development.
